Write Now! Accountability Club

You’re a writer with big dreams. Write Now!, my 2024 monthly accountability club, can help you reach them.

Virginia Woolf famously wrote that a woman needs money and a room of her own to write. In today’s demanding culture, writers need one more thing: accountability. The Write Now! Accountability Club offers the answerability to keep you on track.

When you join the Write Now! Accountability Club, you’ll receive:

  • Weekly individual email check-ins
  • A 30-minute one-on-one meeting with me each month
  • An invitation to my weekly office hours
  • A Monthly Group Session where you’ll have the opportunity to check in with your coach and your peers and to address craft and writing life issues.

The cost for the Write Now! Accountability Club is $100 per month, billed monthly in advance. Club enrollment is on a rolling basis–you can join anytime you want, leave anytime you want, and rejoin anytime you want.

George Eliot decided to write a novel when she was 37, at a time when life expectancy was only 40. She was a late bloomer. Other late bloomers: Toni Morrison published her first novel at 40, Annie Proulx published her first novel at 57, and Laura Ingalls Wilder published her first novel at 65. These women didn’t give up, and neither will you. Persistence is the key—this accountability club offers weekly check-ins, office hours, and more to keep you going.

Group sessions are currently held on the first Saturday of each month at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time. If this time slot doesn’t work for you, please shoot me an email to get on my interest list–I’ll be opening up new groups as the Saturday morning group fills.

Jane Austen once stopped writing for TEN YEARS. Her family moved to Bath, England, and she was so unhappy there that she STOPPED WRITING! We’re not going to let that happen to you. The Write Now! Accountability Club offers a premium level of weekly accountability, combined with monthly individual, one-on-one support and group meetings to help you stay connected, keep going when it gets hard, and achieve your writing dreams.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Will the Write Now! Monthly Accountability Club fit into my schedule?

Group sessions are currently held on the first Saturday of each month at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time. If this time slot doesn’t work for you, please shoot me an email to get on my interest list–I’ll be opening up new groups as the Saturday group fills.

Note: Although I don’t anticipate this happening, I reserve the right to reschedule sessions for the same day/time, but in a different week, when necessary, e.g., I may move a session scheduled for the 1st Saturday of the month to the 2nd Saturday of the month.

Q: Is the Write Now! Monthly Accountability Club only open to women?

A: No. I specialize in working with women and helping women finding their voices. I especially enjoy working with women who are struggling to find the time in their busy schedules to write and women who have set their writing dreams aside for a period of time to raise families or fulfill other obligations. But I do work with all kinds of writers in all kinds of age groups and a variety of genres. The Accountability Club is open to anyone and everyone, whether they identify as a man, a woman, or nonbinary, as long as they are 18+.

Q: Is the Write Now! Accountability Club a book coaching program?

A: No. Write Now! is an accountability program for writers to help them stay on task and chip away at their goals one day, one week, one month, and one year at a time. Although we may discuss craft in the monthly group meetings or in individual email check-ins, the goal of the club is to provide accountability. If you are interested in one-on-one coaching services, including monthly feedback on your pages and one-hour monthly one-on-one sessions, please visit Write with Leanne.

Q: Why did you create the Write Now! Accountability Club?

A: I created the Write Now! Accountability Club to help writers like me—writers who can benefit from the support of a coach and a group of peers to hold them accountable and to help them set and reach achievable writing goals. Writing is a solitary pursuit, but I have found that connecting with other writers is invaluable in so many ways. My writing peers, partners, mentors, and coaches not only hold me accountable for doing my work, but help me when I get stuck and give me the motivation to keep going. We learn so much from one another, and as a result, our writing improves consistently and exponentially. I wanted to create this accountability club for writers who have big dreams and who are looking for accountability and community to help them get there.
